There are many things we love about the Spring, but allergy is definitely not among one of them! People with sensitive skin are often allergic to certain perfumes, dyes and detergents that are used in the laundry. But what then? Who would not like to find the hangers in the closet flaunting bright, beautiful, clean, dried and ironed clothes in the morning? So, why not make your own homemade hypoallergenic laundry detergent which will be friendly to both your skin and pocket. It will cost you less than half of any non-toxic commercial laundry detergent, trust me!

Allergic to detergent

DIY Borax-Free Laundry Detergent For Sensitive Skin

If you have sensitive skin even natural ingredients like Borax will also irritate your skin. But you can make your own borax-free laundry detergent for allergic people or those with sensitive skin. Save money and use only safe, non-toxic ingredients for your lovely dresses. Keep reading and discover how easy it is.

Here’s how you can make your own homemade laundry detergent for sensitive skin.

Ingredients for homemade Hypoallergenic Laundry Detergent

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. Washing Soda
  • 1 Tbsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 Tbsp. Finely Grated Castile Soap (it is made of vegetable oils)
  • 1 C Distilled White Vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. Citrus Enzyme Cleaner or Citric Acid
  • 1 container with a tight-fitting lid

Combine all the ingredients together in the container. If you have extra stains, then clean it with a peroxide/water mixture or Ox clean first then put it in the machine. Use this 1/2 cup of prepared detergent for each load of laundry for mixed soiled load or nearly 1 cup for heavily soiled clothes in the “wash compartment”. And white vinegar as a fabric softener in the “Fabric Softener” compartment. But your washing machine might be differently configured so you can use it accordingly. You should always prefer increasing the ingredients to avoid having to mix the detergent more often.

But it may not be possible during the hectic schedule due to lack of time. If you’re too busy to do your own laundry or don’t have enough time to make your own homemade detergent, let the laundry service providers do it for you. Most of the laundry and dry clean service providers offer you organic dry cleaning services, hypoallergenic wash and fold laundry service for the ones with sensitive skin. Give a try to laundry near you and check what they can do for you!

Note:

  • If you have hard water, use more vinegar
  • If you don’t want to finely grate the castile soap each time you make this detergent, then you can use 1 Tbsp. of liquid castile soap.

Hope this helped you out!
